Put some miles on ol bert

 Hello everyone!!!

Ok this week was absolutely crazy busy haha, but SO GOOD!!!

I will tell the week through the travels of Bert, our car haha.

First, Bert had to drive an hour an a half to York on Monday for pday! We had stake pday with the York stake and played chair football and hockey. Yes I beat 5 sisters, and 8 elders in chair football. One of the elders was like you must have played football for so many years back home. I didn't tell them that I stopped after 8th grade and ran xc and track haha. The key is, you let the elders get everyone else out first while you defend your chair, then you somehow get lucky and beat them at the end haha. Then Bert had to drive all the way home.

Then, Bert had to drive and hour and 45 mins to Harrogate the next day to take the sisters out for a treat! It was really fun and I love Sister Lucas and Sister Thompson so much!! Then Bert drove ALL the way home haha.

THEN, Bert drove us an hour to Scunthorpe the next day for district council. Then all the way home. Then he took us offroading on this one lane road out in the middle of nowhere to go find the sweetest girl in Lockington. Then crawled back home haha.

Then Bert drove us to Hull the next day and all over the area to visit people and have lessons.

THEN, Bert drove us an hour and a half to Leeds the next day for a mission leadership council at the mission home. Which was OUTSTANDING. Then all the way home. Then, that night he drove us an hour and a half to York again to stay the night for exchanges.

I was with Sister Pereria on exchanges and I LOVE HER SO MUCH!! I took a ton of pictures of Yorks so prepare yourself. We also got to teach English to a Ukranian family. And once again, it was my absolute favorite! I am going to be honest, teaching English has been SO FUN, I might just do it someday. Anywho, then Bert drove us all the way home that night.

SO yep, if you kept count, bert drove us about 17 hours + this week. Oh good ol Bert, the old man. It shows, by the end of the week the brake light was out haha.

But in all seriousness, this week was amazing and the number one theme was prayer. I would challenge you all to read 3 Nephi 19. Prayer is so so so important!! The greatest manifestation of the Nephites faith was through prayer. And it can be for us to! Heavenly Father is seeking to bless us and help us, He wants us to have that relationship with Him, and the way that we do that is through prayer. This week was really busy, and because of that pretty hard too. And what got me through was prayer. When it was too overwhelming, I got down on my knees and found peace and comfort through prayer:)

I love being a missionary!! I love it so much!!!

Love,
Sis Jepp:)

New Kid on the Block

 Hiya everyone!!!

Update: My British companion has been influencing me a little too much and I am starting to pick up her accent on some words haha. It's actually amazing. She is from down South, so it's a posh accent, which is completely different than any other accent up here, but it's fun:)

This week was absolutely crazy. I have no time for anything these days. But it is so amazing!

As for the title, I am the new kid on the block these days because I am DRIVING NOW!! Woot woot!! I had my two hour driving practice on Tuesday and can now drive. It has been so fun!! The driver instructor said I did really well at judging the distances especially because I am used to driving on the right side of the road but its flipped here. The roundabouts are a little scary, I won't lie, but it's so fun!!! I love it:)

Here's some other highlights:

-we went to a trampoline park for pday which was really fun. It was a small one and there was a bunch of little kids but hey we had fun

- went to a Japanese restaurant for Valentines day

-had Valentines dinner at the Portugese families house, they made us salted cod. It is one of the most famous dishes in Portugal

-was recommended to put bleach in the washing machine to get rid of the gross smell... did it...20 mins later, it starts foaming out of the machine and all the power goes out in the flat...the smell of bleach was so strong that we moved out mattresses into the study room, barricaded ourselves, opened all the windows and had a fan on. Yep, we froze, but hey we survived. and yep, we are getting a new washing machine haha

-Went on exchanges with the Hull sisters!! I was in Hull with Sister Hritz and it was so much fun!! We had a really busy day and i was just really cool

-went to a Senior Moments activity, which is for people 65+ and we just played games, sang, had a spiritual thought, and visited. I forgot something and an 80 year old told me I had a ''Senior Moment'' haha woops

-So I don't know if I have said anything about it, but the Scottish people LOVE Irn Bru. It's a orange soda that tastes like bubblegum. It's actually really good, we always had it at the Dunn's house. But anyways, at the Senior Moments, one of them taught me the song for Irn Bru and we sang it in front of anyone. The difference being his thick Scottish broad to mine nonexistent Scottish broad, but it was fun.

-went to go help some friends paint their ceiling. But we got there and they wanted us to paint their white cieling, white haha. There were like 3 spots but they needed the whole thing redone. We couldn't tell where we started and stopped but they loved it so yea

-Went to York on Saturday to take the sisters there for a treat and a study! Needless to say, York is probably one of my favorite places in all of England so far. Just the cutest city ever.

Overall, the past three weeks have been the busiest weeks of my mission. It might not sound like it, but there's just so many things going on and things I have to do, and it's crazy. But what has been so beautiful to see is how much God is helping me. I couldn't do any of it without Him. And I have truly been able to walk with my Savior. My testimony has just grown so much and I know that the Lord is leading the work here and bringing so many beautiful children into the fold. I have seen God's hand in my life every single day and I am so grateful to be a missionary!!

Love,
Sis Jepp:)

Tracy's Baptism!!!

Hiya!!! This week was crazy busy and so good!! Lots of driving haha, which makes it fun. Sometimes it gets to bedtime and I genuinely feel like I was just getting ready for bed the night before and have no clue where the day went. They are zooming on by:)

Some fun stuff that happened this week:

- for pday we went to the church and played sports for about 4 hours. Also got shwarma with everyone, in my opinion it's not very good, but all the elders are in love with it so...

-We went to a member's house for tea and it was really sweet. Just her and us and then near the end, all of a sudden a friend of hers comes in and talks a million miles a minute. I still have no idea her name, haha I seriously had to control my laughter because she took zero breaks, made zero sense, and was talking about the crazy political things that were happening. Good stuff.

-went to youth and played ping pong and badminton. There was 3 leaders, two youth and two missionaries haha. like i said before, it's an older ward haha

-had zone conference!! Woot woot, that was really fun. So at zone conference there are parts where missionaries have to do trainings and teach everyone else, and I was SUPER nervous haha. Because I had never done it before, but it was the most beautiful experience because God really did put into my mind and heart things that I should say. And it went well! so that was a success:)

-visited a lot of members this week! Trying to get to know Beverley and all the sweet people that live here

-Drove all the way out to Louth, about an hour and a half, for a valentines activity to help the elders out. It was a really pretty drive and reminded me of home because it was just the countrysides and two lane roads haha.

-Went across the Humber bridge!! It is beautiful and reminds me of the Golden Gate Bridge

-oh YEA!!!! Tracy was baptized!!!! Tracy is the sweetest deaf women that we went bowling with, did BSL class with and taught:) She was baptized yesterday by her husband James!! It was one of the sweetest things to witness because the entire service was intepreted. Even James signed the prayer when he baptized Tracy. I had to watch it over zoom, but the Spirit was so strong!! What a beautiful day:)

So yea! That's pretty much it. Wish me luck on my driver's lesson tomorrow! I have a 2 hour lesson and then I am good to drive on the left side of the road! Woot woot!!

Love,
Sis Jepp:)

Made these fun little yarn hearts:)
