Trying to bring American rolls to England...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! I hope you all had a wonderful week full of Thanksgiving fun:)

In the spirit of thanksgiving and gratitude, I want to just share that I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ and for the opportunity I have to be a missionary! Jesus Christ is my best friend and He is the reason why I find joy and peace every single day. I love being a missionary and being able to spread His light with everyone around! And I am also super grateful for my amazing family that supports me so much!

Here's some fun quotes and highlights of the week:

-''That's rubbish dad''. This was said about 20 times by two year old Tristan at our tea appointment one day. He would say it about everything and we were trying not to encourage him but it was so funny we couldn't stop laughing

-''Why is Satan the only one in this world that works hard?''-Sister Foster after finding out some disappointing events with our work. Satan is really working hard on the people over here in England and sometimes it is quite overwhelming, but hey, we are on the winning team and Christ is pulling us through:)

-I got sick on Monday and had to stay in all day Tuesday. It was a pretty bad head cold and I just had a sore throat and a headache for like two days, now I just have no voice and sound awful haha but I am okay:)

-We did whiteboard finding on thanksgiving in town center and BOY was it FREEZING!! My fingers froze holding the whiteboard, like I legit couldn't straigten them. We asked, ''What are you thankful for?'' and got a ton of responses! It was way fun

-the senior sisters in Hartlepool made a thanksgiving feast for all the missionaries in the area which was very sweet of them. They even made raspberry pretzel jello!! Which my family knows, is my favorite and brought a big smile to my face that day.

-not gonna lie, thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays and I was sad that day to be away from family, but I got to call them AND I made some funny new thanksgiving memories so it's ok:)

-the guy family had us over on Friday for another thanksgiving dinner and it was the sweetest!

-OH YEA...roll fiasco...I decided to make rolls for the dinner at the guys. And I've never made homemade rolls before. But i went for it. And boy did it turn out hilarious. The dough rose wonderfully, but then when I went to put it in roll form it was wayyyyyy to sticky and liquidy. It was just a mess. So the only option was to place like 9 of them and a cookie sheet in a mess, 12 of them in muffin tins, and the rest in a bread loaf. Mmmhhhhhmmm, laugh away. Then that all rose really well actually, but i forgot to spray the clear wrap that I covered then with and it stuck to that and ruined the rising that it had done. But I cooked them and they actually tasted real nice, just looked awful. I'll include pictures at the end:)

-cool miracle! We found on Facebook a Christmas event that darlington was throwing at our local park and we planned to go finding during that time today. Not even 5 minutes before we headed out the door to go, the office elders came with the new family pamphlets and Christmas pamphlets! Which was a huge blessing because we didnt have anymore family pamphlets to give out. We were so excited! We quickly grabbed about 25 family pamphlets and 40 Christmas pamphlets and went off to the park. And there were SO many families!! We started passing them out and people were so happy to take them! We passed them all out in about 20 minutes.

Then we went back to the flat and had the option to either go to the baptism in Newton aycliffe to support the elders or go back to the park with more pamphlets. We prayed about it and were super conflicted but both felt back to the park was needed:) so we went back out and passed out 50 more Christmas flyers and it was awesome!! People were very nice and always said thank you when we handed it to people:) and even though it was dark, cold, and we walked about 5 miles in total so far today, and we were tempted (aka Satan was trying to get us to stop), we are glad we followed through and people were able to get the pamphlets:)

-sang at a christmas devotional yesterday!! Well, "sang", I completely lost my voice from being sick

It was a great week though!! And I just love being a missionary. I know I say it a lot, but it's just so true!!

Love,
Sis jepp:)

Trying to Escape...jk

 Hiya!!!!

First off, yea. It was raining a ton here this week. It is quite entertaining to just get drenched over and over again and feel like crazy people walking all around town in the pouring rain. It's a missionaries life. I think I dried my clothes on the radiator about 3 or 4 times a day haha.

But here is the jist of my week:

- pday was SO SO FUN!! Guess what we did. We escaped. To Scotland. And we made it about 20 feet across the border and then got caught and had to come back. Not really, but we did go to Scotland!! It was about two hours away from us. On the way up there we stopped at Bamburgh Castle again and on the way back we got fish n chips. So pretty much the best first pday for Sis Flake ever:)

-Then we had zone conference!! We got to meet with all the missionaries in our zone and just had a great day. It is so uplifting to talk about the work and how we can help others better. I always come away from zone conference very excited to get back to missionary work:)

- We did a ton of finding this week and talked to so many people!! I didn't realize how many local friends we have that recognize us and say hi. It's the best!!

-had an amazing lesson with our friend Brian!! He is the coolest!

-laughed our heads off like two days in a row, Sister Flake is THE best!

-Went out to beautiful Richmond to do finding there and had really good conversations with people!! Then we had lunch there and we literally sat, eating Gregg's next to a castle, on top of a hill, looking over the cutest countryside and waterfall. It felt like a dream and sometimes I can't believe I am in England:) It's the best!!

And ya! It was just a good week:)

At zone conference we talked a lot about our why's. Why are we are missions? Why do we choose to sacrifice 18 months-2 years of our lives to be missionaries?

This was my answer: My why is because I absolutely love Jesus Christ. Because I love Him, I choose to come out here and to endure whatever comes because I know that this gospel is what everyone needs. I want to bring the joy I feel to as many people as possible. Because I love Jesus Christ, I have endured the hardest, yet most special almost 6 months ever. I love being a missionary, and I love Jesus Christ!

Love you all so much!

Love,
Sis. Jepp:)
