Hiya everyone!!
Wow what a jam packed week this week. All the emotions were felt this week. It was transfers!!! We found out transfer news on Tuesday night and then transfers were on Thursday!
So here's the news: I am still in Beverley!! Fourth transfer! They are my family here so it's ok, I think I have about 25 adopted grandparents haha. And I got a new companion! Her name is Sister Wight, she is from Layton, Utah. She is way cool! We have been having a really good time and we are similar in a lot of ways so it is good:)
BUT, obviously that means that Sister Sousa got transferred:( It was SO sad. We have been together for about 4 and a half months and it was just devastating to say goodbye. I love her so much and she has taught me so much!! It is okay, we are eternal best friends, so it wasn't a goodbye, we will still see each other again.
Here's the week for you:
-last pday this transfer meant a BBQ and bowling! It was pretty fun!!
-Tuesday was a crazy day!! We are starting to have open houses once a week for chapel tours and a presentation and so this was our first one! It truly felt like Satan was against us because everything was falling apart that morning and we were trying to get everything done before our lessons that were one right after the other that day. But God does always win, and it always works out because we were able to be completely ready at 5 for the open house!! Sadly, no visitors came, but our Bishop and his wife did and one other member and it was really sweet! They were so excited and talking to people on the street in the front of the chapel with us. So even though no one came in this time, we talked to a lot of people and got the support of our Bishop and members here!
-Wednesday we had our last district council and goodbyes for Sister Sousa. We had a relief society garden party that was very cute. I will send a picture, it is extremely English ahh
-Thursday was taxi driving day!! I didn't get any tips haha. But yea, we drove everyone around and saw everyone at the institue building in Leeds. It was sad to say goodbye to the missionaries I have been serving around for 3 transfers but hey, that's a mission.
-that night we helped the 4 Hull sisters get all moved in and then we were all starving so we went to Subway... I am not sure I told you all about the chavs, but they are like the knuckle head teenagers that all wear the same thing, smoke and vape and just cause a ruckus all around town. But they are pretty harmless, they just act all talk haha. But anyway, a big group of them were in Subway and were being dumb, and as we walked out they were all like standing right there. So we had to walk through a tunnel of them haha, but one of them said, "oh, my girlfriend Jess, Peggy, Mary...etc.. naming all 6 of us as we walked out. I think I was girlfriend Sue. Hahahahha it was funny. Oh those chavs
-OH AND GUESS WHAT, Sister Wight LIKES TO RUN!!! LIKE OH MY THIS WAS AN ANSWER TO MY PRAYERS!! We have run every day!! It has been a dream and I am super out of shape, but no worries. I get to run!!
-We went back and visited our friend Seyi!! She was so sweet and just talked and taught her for so long! She is really pulling from us and is prepared!! She wants us to come back too!
-we cleaned the font to prepare for the open house. Used some dangerous chemical and bleach and put gloves on our feet for protection
-we got a referral from a member and we called them and we were talking and they were super strong in their faith, but was fine with us dropping up some resources. So I was like, "can we come....now?!" just like that. And he was like ya! SO we went and had an amazing conversation for about 45 minutes and gave him a Book of Mormon! It was beautiful
-Also we talked to some really cool people this week!! We just met them all knocking doors and they are going to come to the open house.
All in all, miracles are happening. And we have been praying and working so hard to find those that are ready to accept the gospel of Jesus Christ. And this week was a testimony of that. People are being prepared, and Christ is gathering His sheep. People are just so nice and it is unreal how many people we have had positive interactions with this week that can and will lead to more. I am so grateful to be a missionary and I just love it here!!!
Love,
Sister Jepp:)
