Preheating the cat in the oven...

 Hiya everyone!!!

Hope all is well! Happy October!! This is madness, this year is just flying by. It's scary how fast it has gone. It really is spooky season....hahah

Alrighty, let's jump into it because this week was truly amazing. God is so so so good. We saw so many miracles this week! This scripture fits perfectly for this week [tweaked to be personal to me],

Alma 26:12
"Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought here in Bradford, for which I will praise his name forever."

This week I quite literally was weak by the weekend, with a very sore throat and cold, but yet I had the most joyous week and saw so many miracles! God does give the increase. Jesus Christ is the worker of miracles, and all glory is to Him.

I am a witness of His grace, His mercy, and His love.

This week we taught two-three legit lessons with our friends, four days in a row. Which is so beautiful and good. We had so many amazing spirit-filled conversations that just leaves me in awe of His goodness. To feel the Spirit so tangibly around us as we share the truths that are so important to us is something that I hope to always feel.

One friend in particular blew me away this week. P! We went over for a lesson on Tuesday and he sat us down and just wanted to start from 1 Nephi 1-3. As we read he would stop and ask us questions. Sounds simple right? Well, I have never met someone so encaptured by this book the first time reading it then P. He was so excited and when it would come to his turn to read he would read like 9 verse in a row because he just couldn't stop. He LOVED it!! And then he said, I want you to come two times a week and teach me this. So of course, we gladly accept.

Fast forward to friday, we come back over. This time, his sister T came too! He promised her that she would find peace in her life if she joined in the lesson. And we brought our Bishop along too!! We taught the restoration again for T:) And P loved it even better the second time. We had one of the coolest lessons I have taught on my mission. Maybe the coolest. Bishop's testimony and conversion story just added tenfold to the Spirit that was already present. Then P said that he wants to be baptized in 3 WEEKS!!!! It was so joyous. We are going to continue going back twice a week, and T wants to keep coming every time too! It was all just one miracle after the other.

And SOMEONE CAME TO OUR OPEN HOUSE!!! Wahoo!!! He is from Nigeria and he just loved coming and seeing our church!! The spirit was very special and strong as we bore testimony to him:)

There are too many miracles to write down, but please hear my testimony when I say that God is a god of miracles, today. This day. I am so grateful to see His hand in all things, because I know without a shadow of a doubt, that I would not be able to say the things I say, and do the things I do, without Him. And for that, my heart is full.

Here's some other fun things:

-met with a lady from Italy who painted every room in her flat the Italian flag

-watched general conference with some of the best members! Carol for one session! The Tudges for another!

-chopped down trees and weeds in the pouring rain for a 90 year old man

-went to Sakku Samba, a super fancy restuarant and bought the cheapest thing on the menu, left starving haha

-oh yea, the cat in the oven story. There is this sweetest man in our ward who has tunnel vision. So he is almost completely blind, and he is very hard of hearing. So he told us this story this week of how one time, he was making tea. and he went to preheat the oven. Well their new kitten was in the kitchen and when he opened the oven to situate the bars and what have ya, right before he closed it, the kitten jumped in. But he not being able to see, didn't notice. About 10 mins later he heard some wimpering and screeching, but thought it was coming from outside. Went outside, nothing. Came back in, heard it again and realized it was coming from the oven. He opened it and out jumped a scorched little kitten. He quite literally preheated the cat. But don't worry, they say it gave their cat special powers because it went on to live for 20 years. So don't worry grandma, it was okay:)

Anywho's,
quick lil thought for conference. What a blessing that we have a living prophet with living apostles on the Earth today!! When we told P about general conference he said, "I am going! All the way to Utah! The chance to see a prophet? To be that close to someone who is that close to God? Why wouldn't I go?" That was before we told him it was this weekend...but the gesture was not unnoticed. I think we sometimes take it for granted, the significance of a living prophet on the Earth, someone who receives direct revelation to lead the church today. Someone who is the Lord's chosen mouthpiece on the Earth today. I hope we all recognize how lucky and blessed we are and I hope you all go back and listen to general conference again and again. Because God does speak to us today:)

Love,
Sis Jepp:)
