Hello!!!
Happy Fourth of July!!! This was a memorable fourth of july for the books. And not just because we spent it in the country that we are freed from hahah. I actually don't know why people left England. I LOVE IT HERE. I am not coming home haha, just kidding. I definitely missed America on this day a little more than usual.
All in all, this week was seriously just amazing. I have seen God's hand SO MUCH in my life and I am in constant awe of all that He allows me to do. I know that as we try to look and recognize God's hand in our lives, the more we find it in every little detail. Here are a few of the ways I have seen God's hand this week.
FIRST, with our friend Kevin!! We taught him the Plan of Salvation this week and it was so sweet! When we asked him how knowing God's plan makes him feel, he said, "It allows me to view God not just as a judgemental God like I always have, but a loving God." I have never even stopped to think that other people might not even see God as loving, but it was so sweet for Kevin to recognize that for himself. He also came to church on Sunday and loved it!!!
SECOND, our friend D!! So get this, Sister Wight had the great idea to text our 500+ contacts on our phone to the open house we have every Tuesday. And miracles are just coming!! There have been about 20 people interested to come this coming week and we got to call a couple more people and set things up! And then D. reached out and wanted to meet with us. SO we did:) On Saturday we met with him and a couple in our ward at the chapel. Keep in mind this is our first time meeting him. In walks in this 34 year old, leather jacket wearing, bandana on is forehead with long, curly black hair, having just smoked a cigarette. And he is the nicest!! We get talking and turns out he met with elders a year ago and had a problem with the word of wisdom, but over the past year has been led back to the church, and the last push was when our text came through inviting him the open house. And guess what, HE WANTS TO BE BAPTIZED!! He recognizes that this is what will bring his family closer together and he knows he needs to be baptized. He wants to quit smoking and we taught him all about the word of wisdom and baptism again. And a cool part is that the couple that came were huge smokers and drinkers before getting baptized too so they were a huge help in the lesson! SO COOL THOUGH!! He came to church and loved it!!
THIRD, on Saturday night was a young adult devotional with Elder Boom for the Hull stake. And we were going and Sister Wight had the great idea to text one of the friends she taught a year ago in Hull, that was our age! And guess what! He came and loved it!!! So cool:)
But yea, I just truly know that these people that we have met and the miracles we have seen are God's hand in my life. I can't even explain how much I owe to God. And I know that as we continually strive to keep His commandments to follow in His Son's footsteps, we become like Him and qualify to be an instrument in His hands.
Other super cool things this week!!!!!
-Monday we had a stake pday! We played secret hitler and chair football haha, classics
-we had a special MLC with Elder Boom on the 4th that was so good!!
-after the meeting on the 4th, all the sisters went to a pub to get lunch and that was fun!!
-also, the night of the 4th, for youth, we taught everyone how to play pickleball! We had talked to the young womens president about how fun it was and she ordered it on amazon for us to teach the youth! She said, you know you are probably the first people in all of East Yorkshire to play pickleball. Monumental right there.
-Wednesday I failed my theory test by one question. tuff.
-Thursday was mission tour!! It was so fun to see half of the mission! It was just a beautiful day and the spirit was so strong!! We focused on Joseph Smith History!
-Friday I went on exchanges with Sister Ford and had SO MUCH FUN!!! also, we didn't have the car, it was getting serviced, so guess what we did? Walked 7.5 miles in the heat all day long. Good stuff. Met some really cool people though:)
yep, that sums it all up. Sorry this was longer, but there was just so many good things this week!!
Love you all!!
Love,
Sis Jepp:)
