Proper British Fever Dream

Hiiya Everyone!  This week was madness. Beautiful madness. A Proper British Fever Dream of a week. It was raining like crazy. And then two seconds later not at all and at the most craziest times of the week.

Just so, so, so many good things happened this week I am not sure where to start. Probably the beginning of the week would make sense haha.

-Monday we got to run 6 miles again which was so fun. We died this time because we added these two hills that destroyed our little out of shape selves

-We had an amazing lesson with our friend Kevin and he wants to be baptized!! He is praying about a baptismal date right now. But he has just grown so much and you can see the difference that God has made in his life. It has been super sweet to see.

-We had someone come to the open house this week!! He was so interesting! He walked right in and we talked for the next hour and a half. One of the most talkative, interesting people I have ever met!! He has been all over the world and done so much police work, first aid, humanitarian work and was talking all about it. He thought the presentation we showed him was super interesting and although he didn't want to come again necessarily, he was glad he could come and see. And that is what is so cool about it all. Some people won't be interested, but they got a chance to feel of God's love for them.

-Fever Dream Moment:
>Alright so on Wednesday night we got invited to a musical night at the Queen's house (Helen Smith). She is so amazing. So basically she has this beautiful circular music room where the acoustics just make everything sound beautiful. And her niece and family were staying at the house and were basically the Von Trapp family. all seriously talented with music. And she invited a part member family in the ward, and there were three inactive members as well. But it was super chill and just a way to enjoy music all together. And everyone played instruments and performed pieces. Two of them did an 8 minute violin, piano piece that was beautiful. So ya, this is top tier stuff.  A fiddle was played and my English dreams were made. It was a joy.

>And so, they wanted me and Sister Wight to perform. Helen told us to do a fun song, not a hymn, so we chose "Gratitude", by Brandon Lake, but the cover with Blake Engum. And let me tell you, angels carried us that song. But it turned out really well and everyone was sweet about it.

> So all that is necessary for one of the sweetest moments of my mission to make sense. There is this cutest young mom of three beautiful girls, and she and her husband have been inactive for a couple of years now. She was adopted from the Philipinnes from a young age and her parents are in the ward and are super awesome and have just been praying for her and her husband to come back to church. Well miracles do indeed happen because she and her daughters came back to church and have been coming!! But, there have been a lot of struggles with her and she has been in a mental hospital for a little bit and just have a really hard time, but was allowed to come to the music night. Anyway, we have not been able to have a good connection with her for a couple reasons, but tonight she came up to us asking about the song and then just broke down. She completely opened up to us and told us everything. And she said "I need a spiritual thought right now." It was one of the most raw moments and the Spirit came in so strongly it was so tangible. Heavenly Father knew that this sweet woman needed love in that moment and needed us to share and bring it to her. It was a celestial moment I would call it and I am so grateful for those moments we had with her, strengthening her, lifting her up and just helping her feel God's love for her.

-we had an amazing lesson with our friend D. who is so commited to stop smoking and to be baptized!! He is so excited! So are we!!

-another fever dream moment: On Thursday we had this guy come to fix the locks on our door because they have been broken and we haven't locked our doors properly in 6 months.....ooops sorry mom. But anywho, he came and he started asking us questions about who we are and what have ya. He then tells us he is an atheist, but then for the next hour and 15 mins, we had one of the coolest conversations I have ever had. It was also very hard because he had a lot of challenging questions and loves science and what not. But we were able to testify boldly, and by the end of it he accepted some pamphlets and told us he isn't actually atheist entirely, he believes something, just not sure what. But yea, it was really sweet and totally directed by God. No coincidence.

-took the Hull sisters to Taco Bell. Yumm.

-had exchanges with the Scunthorpe sisters!! I went with Sister Crook and it was so fun! She is amazing. And she let me cut her hair:)

-made scones!!! I am British now

-British Fever Dream Moment:
> On Saturday, the Relief Society in the ward organized a Garden Bake Sale to raise money for the East Yorksire Foodbank. It was from 2-5, and everyone got a scone with jam and cream and a drink. And then they could buy cakes that we all made or other things we had. And it was in Helen's garden of course. Well at 1:30 it was torrentially downpouring, so we prayed and the sun came out! Huzzah! But for the first hour it was pouring on and off and we kept having to bring the food in and out, but then the last two hours it was sunny!! Then right at 5, it started pouring again. But the Lord really did provide and we ended up making about 700 pounds! It was awesome and so British

-On Sunday a couple of our friends came to church!! It was a miracle and so beautiful to see the ward just unite around them all:)

But yea, there were just so many beautiful things that happened this week and I wish you could feel how I feel. Just pure joy and happiness, not because my life is easy, but because I feel God's love so strongly for me and for all those around me.

Love,
Sis Jepp:)
