Hiya everyone!!!
Hope all is enjoying school, crazy how fast summer went.
This week was very busy so lets get into it:)
-exciting news first: i passed my practical driving test! I am the newest licensed UK driver!!! Woot woot!
-on pday, me and sis mccomas went to Durham! It was a blast to the past because we would go there all the time when i first got to england! We got burritos at zaps and went to durham cathedral and climbed the 325 steps to the top of the tower! Very cool
-met a lot of cool people this week who (by some coincidence, not) have met missionaries before!!
Julie: met her knocking doors, she has gone to church with missionaries when she was 18! And that morning i felt like we really needed to go to her neighbourhood but we got stuck in traffic and we only had 10 mins before the next apt, but we went and met her!
Linda: also met her knocking doors, she had met elders in the past and has been having a hard time lately and wants us to come back and share more with her!
Drew: my driver test guy! He was so so so kind and told us about how he met elders before! One of them wrote their testimony in a book of mormon and gave it to him! He told us it was his favorite gift he has ever been given and loves to read it sometimes. Sadly we couldnt talk too much more because well i was being tested and he had to leave shortly after. But such a cool thing!!
- had a really sweet lesson with Penny! She is autistic, but high functioning, just processes things slowly. So we have to teach her slowly and simply, but they are the most spirit filled lessons. She is truly seeking and it was beautiful to testify so simply of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and what it means for each of us
-went to newcastle on thursday for sister mccomas's theory test! She passed! Also i got to wander around newcastle for an hour and a half, it was a blast. Saw some cool bridges haha
-went to an indian restuarant and tried lots of things ive never had before! Chicken tikka madhupuri? I think thats what its called.
-had exchanges with sister stanley!!! Shes so cool. We went to berwick again and scotland haha
-had a branch beach party where it was chucking it down the whole time. It was freezing and we looked like we swam in the north sea. We didnt i promise, but our branch did;)
-I GOT TO GO BACK TO DARLINGTON, oh what a happy happy day. My test was in darlo! It was so fun to reminisce and see where i walked months ago. We stopped by the Dunns because i couldnt not and it was just a joy to seem them:)
Yea so lots and lots of things that happened!! I got to reflect and relive experiences this week and it just had me thinking a lot!
I was thinking of home too, because I am getting my flight plans in the next two weeks most likely, and its kind of crazy. But not thinking of it in the way you would expect. I was thinking of where my home really is. Who my home really is. And as i listened to a song, I realized my true home is with my Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Here are some of the lyrics to the song:
Kind of a mix up of lyrics, the full song is 'Home' by We Are Messengers
I'd been running, Lord knows how long
And I couldn't escape all the things that I'd done
You met my trouble with a beautiful love
And You showed me mercy when I deserved none
And You carried me when I couldn't go on
You are my home
When I feel abandoned, lost on my own
You are my home
If it wasn't for You I'd have nothing at all
Jesus Christ is my home. I have felt Him carry me time and time again, day after day, when it feels like I can't go on much longer. Without Him, I am nothing, I have nothing, and everything loses meaning. I have a testimony of my Savior, that He descended below all things for each one of us. That it is through Him that we can one day reach our Heavenly home. But until then, we can feel home through Christ each and every day
Love,
Sis. Jepp:)
